Description
Let’s go to The EX with the Official CNE App — now for Android!
Let’s go to The EX with the Official CNE App! We are Excited to be on Google Play for the 2012 fair. With this second edition of our mobile app, we’ve developed an Android version, made some tweaks and added new features. Our goal is to provide you with as much assistance as possible during your visit via your trusty smartphone!
Features:
Our app includes five main menu tabs: What’s On, Plan Visit, Map, Social and More+. You can access event and concert listings, customer service information, directions and more, in an environment designed specifically for Android users. Through the Social tab, you can view the CNE’s Facebook and Twitter feeds for real-time updates, as well as login and post to your own accounts. Updating your friends about your CNE EXperience has never been easier!
What’s more, our five CNE EXpress Trains and daily Mardi Gras Parade are outfitted with GPS tracking equipment courtesy of Nero Global Tracking and Rogers. This means that you’ll know, by looking at your app map, when the next EXpress Train is around the bend, or a good time to get ready to catch Mardi Gras beads from the daily parade floats!
New in 2012:
• Grid menu layout with custom icons
• Various sorting options for Concerts & Events
• Enhanced map functionality, including a Category Slider with location pins
• Augmented Reality feature in the Map menu
• Narrated self-guided Haunted Walking Tour
• CNE Postcard feature in the More menu
• Updated CNE Sounds when you shake your phone
• Settings feature in More menu to control page text font size and CNE Sounds on/off
• General fixes and improvements
• Google Map in Plan Visit menu
• Expanded free on-site Wi-Fi service
We hope you enjoy your visit!
Notes:
Once downloaded, the CNE App operates, by and large, without cellular network or Internet connectivity. Content updates, when available, occur on re-launch and certain features may require connectivity for full operation, which include: web browsing; social network status updates; viewing the Haunted Walking Tour YouTube videos; and photo/video uploading. For your convenience, free Wi-Fi is available in several buildings and outdoor locations on the CNE Grounds (see map Category Slider for details). If your device is not set to automatically search for Wi-Fi, it will connect via your cellular network provider. Depending on your data plan, you may incur extra charges for data usage. Please perform a complete shut down of the app when not in use to avoid battery drain by the GPS features.
