This is an easy-to-use app that delivers an inclusive yet finite and manageable selection of over-the-counter (OTC) meds based on user symptom selections. Includes indications for newborn through adult OTC medications.
Medication selection is based on ease of accessibility & availability at most local pharmacies.
Specific dosing guidance is not provided. Please respond via email@example.com if you would like to add an OTC medication for review. We do not accept or adhere to the traditional ‘pill-for-every-ill’ mantra. Our philosophy is to help you facilitate the process and provide the information you need to remedy minor short-term, routine over-the-counter needs.
How to Use:
Here’s the scoop. You have a minor ailment that requires a routine over-the-counter (OTC), non-prescription remedy. You select the part of the body that is of concern and then continue short-listing the ailment by making a series of consecutive symptom or indication selections. Select your age. Read a few disclaimers, and there you have it – a list of OTC remedies specific to the indication you originally selected.
The information provided is not intended to take the place of your doctor or pharmacist. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens, if specific symptoms persist after 2 to 3 days, or if you have a persistent or chronic condition. Remember, these are symptoms or indications of what could be a deeper underlying problem which may require the expertise of your doctor. Read and follow all medication labeling, directions and warnings before use. The corresponding over-the-counter medicines for the indications you have selected are only meant to provide temporary relief.
Information on this app/web-site is not intended to provide specific advice. It is designed to help users better understand and research possible non-prescription, over-the-counter remedies with the intent to empower the end-user to make an informed and educated decision.
Most importantly, this is not meant to replace your doctor or pharmacist. We believe that they should always remain the most integral part of your healthcare. This is intended to be a tool (for consumers and health-care professionals) that provides simple, straight-forward, time-tested and well-grounded direction simply based on your symptom selections for everyday routine over-the-counter medication needs.
