Dogfight over Israel! Middle East air-combat game on the go!
Fly the P-51 Mustang, F-4 Kurnass, F-15 Baz, F-16 Netz, F-104 Starfighter, Spitfire, Vampire, Meteor, Hunter, Mystere, Super Mystere, Mirage, Nesher, Kfir, MiG-15 ‘Fagot’, MiG-17 ‘Fresco’, MiG-19 ‘Farmer’, MiG-21 ‘Fishbed’, MiG-23 ‘Flogger’, and MiG-25 ‘Foxbat’! Combat flight game featuring dozens of legendary fighter aircraft from the golden age of aviation spanning almost 35 years from 1948 to 1982!
The Israel campaign starts out in the year 1948 when the state of Israel is formed. After the British withdrawal from Palestine, the UN passes the Resolution 181 to setup two separate states in Palestine. Israel accepts and becomes a new state. Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon however reject the plan insisting on only one Palestine state, and invade the newly formed state of Israel. Engage in dogfights using only available fighters in the region, the classic piston-engine fighters from World War 2. Then switch to high-speed dogfights with the early guns-only jet fighters as new fighters arrive from UK, Soviet, and France. Advance through the years as the early rear-aspect only heat-seeking missiles and radar-guided missiles are introduced, and finally engage in blood-draining high-g dogfights using all-aspect missiles!
The campaign advances one year when you accumulate 5 kills flying any aircraft available on/or before that year. Keys to unlock new planes are earned when you get promoted to a new level based on your total accumulated score. You also get additional keys when the campaign progresses to the following 4 historical years: 1956, 1967, 1973, and 1982.
Later year aircraft can be bought as in-app purchase and unlocked early and played out of sequence, but you need to go to the Options screen and set it to show later year aircraft to see them.
The game uses accelerometer (tilt sensor) for controlling the aircraft. The sensor is automatically centered every time you play, but there is also a button at the top center of the screen to “re-center” it manually to the current orientation anytime during game play.
The radar screen at the top right corner of the screen shows top-down position of the enemy fighters, and the red arrows on the screen show which direction to turn. The arrow changes into a red box when the target is in front. Once the target is in gun range, a red aim dot appears indicating where to lead and
shoot to hit the target. Remember that enemy fighters are also turning and attempting to get behind your six!
Targeting is automatic, missiles automatically lock-on to the target with best chance of hitting, which is generally the one closest to the center of the screen. Missile chances are affected by the range, both max and min ranges, as well as the target aspect (especially for the early heat seekers which are rear aspect only!)
The app is absolutely free to download and play! It is ad supported, but any single $0.99 in-app purchase will remove the ads.
