Have you ever found yourself about to leave on a trip when suddenly a terrible storm moves in? Using Weather Route, you can now check the current weather throughout your entire road trip. See if there’s snow in that high mountain pass, or flash flooding across that lonely desert, all at the same time, all from the same place.
The weather report gives a summary of weather info for every leg of your journey (down to roughly 50 mile increments). You can also view the full route of your trip, or individual legs, with a simple button click to bring up that segment of the route on Google Maps.
REPORT APP CRASHES! Every report helps us make a more stable, useful app! 🙂
Please note: Provided driving directions are based on turns on your route, as provided by MapQuest data. This means that if you’re on the same highway for 400 miles without turns, the provided directions may only give you the beginning and end of that segment. To provide weather details for the space in between, we offer a simple “straight line” of intermediate weather data. Your actual route may veer significantly from this path, if the road is particularly windy or has any large bends across long distances. This is a limitation of the map data being provided by MapQuest, but should only impact rare instances of long-distance travel across sparsely-populated regions. You may also see maps of intermediate legs that direct you off your route; these are the intermediate points calculated for our weather estimates. If you actually want precise driving directions, use your normal mapping app. Our focus is weather.

* Fixed crash occurring on very short routes.
* Rolled back app to version 1.5. Server was experiencing problems that were making the app less useful.
* Pushed route processing off to a server. Much more responsive app now.
* Prevent the route display from jumping back up to the top when data is updated.
