  • all this did was take me to the web ebook store.
    starstarstarstarstar- 2013-02-07

  • Purchased full version from Google Market.  Best ePUB reader available for Android.  Retains formatting in every ePUB I have thrown at it.  Support for PDF is mediocre, but has gotten better with each update.  User interface is intuitive, and books can be stored in any folder on eMMC or SD.  I LOVE this reader and recommend it to everyone.  My wife and coworkers are all Mantano converts.

Also, there are options to change margins and spacing. You might have to dig around, but they are there.

  • Bluefire Reader:

Retains most formatting features from the ePUBs.  Very lightweight on system resources, too.  For a free program, it does everything I’d expect, and better than most others.  Not many options (especially compared to FBReader or Cool Reader), but does an okay job without them.  PDF support isn’t good, but it is there.  You get better PDF viewing from Mantano Reader (and even it isn’t great).  If you’re wanting something to read PDFs look elsewhere.

From my experiences with Bluefire, I would recommend this to anyone not willing to shell out the cash for Mantano.  If you don’t like it, or if you absolutely must have every option available to you, then please check out Cool Reader.  Only reason I would rank Bluefire above Cool Reader is because the files look great from the second you open them.  With Cool Reader, you have to do some tweaking of settings before you get a book-like experience.

It would be awesome if you could post the Course Smart App for Android! I use it all the time from my computer but have recently purchased the Kobo Vox hoping I could get it on there.

  •  We just put this online for you.

  • Alexa Rae

You are awesome!! That just saved me so much frustration. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! 🙂

  • Concerned_curious

Isnt this a paid app on the android market? Is it actually free on the goodereader app site?
or are we choosing to ignore something here..

  •  Hello, what app are you talking about? We only offer free apps that are marketed as “free” or the “lite” versions. In many cases paid apps have a free or lite versions for people to try before you commit to the payment.  What application are you talking about in specific so we can investigate this issue and remove it if you are right.

  • Concerned_curious

I saw montano and repligo reader. Havent tried it to see if they are free versions. Would be good if it was clearly mentioned that an app was the full version or a free/lite version of a full version. For example, Scrabble is mentioned as: Scrabble Free

  •  Yes, both of those versions are the free and lite versions. The very premise of our app store is to only give free and lite apps away. We are very against piracy and will never offer any app unless the company gives us exclusive access to give it away for free for a limited time.

We are working on some partnerships with various big name companies producing enhanced books for android to let us give them away for free very soon.

  • Kam-Yung Soh

OverDrive Media Console on the Google Android Market is now at version  Will the version in this store be updated soon?

  •  We just updated it for you

  • Kam-Yung Soh

     That was fast.  Thanks!

  •  We tend to address all concerns and problems fairly quickly.

  • Molly

Can this be used with a Nook Color?  The description lists nook, but i tried downloading, then my nook said no, that it isn’t from their shop and won’t let me install it.

  •  Nook recently updated their firmware to not allow 3rd party apps installed anymore. You can root your device though to get it on it. The process is easy.

  • Dorothy Atkinson

What is an Android? I don’t see anything for the Kobo WIFI eReader so I guess I don’t have to be concerned.
I just wondered what it was. Thank you

  •  Android is an operating system. The Kobo Vox tablet uses it but not the e-ink based reader you own.

  • Melclarke64

I am not sure yet i want the page turning app but does this work with kobo vox?

  • Bea Gonzalez

Am I doing something wrong?  I have tried downloading this App to my playbook from here but it doesn’t show up anywhere once it has downloaded!!! Anything I can do?

  • Amit

hi, just bought playbook and is it possible to borrow e-pub files on playbook like in kobo e-reader from a vancouver library using your software? thanks…

  •  Yes, you need to download the overdrive media console in the Playbook section

  • PBuser

Thanks so much for the help. I have installed 4 apps and 3 of them work correctly. The Aldiko app crashes the second it opens stating, “The application Aldiko (process com.aldiko.android) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Is anyone else experiencing this crash and if so any suggestions on what do try?

  • Trekenjosh

  • Kevin P.

Sirs, do you have the “Sony Reader for Android” available for the Playbook?  Thank-you.

  • billy

  • Andrestarosa

  • Csm0530

can you put the sony reader app on the kindle fire?

  • Dah4rail

Hi,  I have downloaded v2.4.1 to my Playbook and tried to add my local library but, although I download books from there to my WIN Netbook using Adobe Epub, the lobrary is’nt covered in the Overdrive listings.

In point of fact none of the Libraries in the West Midlands area of Great Vritain are listed although, to my certain knowledge a lot of them, if not all, have ebokk lending facilities.

Is this ommision likely to be addressed in the future?

  • Gamesforpan

Tried to download flash & angry birds on my pandigital novel, 7″, black 4gb & got unable to load.

    Need some help. Larry

  •  In your settings menu do you have unknown sources checkmarked? Look in your settings menu. This allows you to install our apps.

  • Gamesforpan

The setting is checked. Now what? When I posted this I got security warning. Does this mean anything.

  • Williblue

I was told that I need a file viewer to open word documents on my Kindle Fire. Can you tell me which viewer will work best for me? Thanks.

  • Himdeep Rekhi

Actually in my personal experience Cool Reader is far superior to Blue Fire reader. Cool reader not only has more features, it also has very realistic paper turn. Blue Fire on the other hand, as you correctly pointed out works the moment you install it but its page turn effect is like turning a cardboard.

So, if one is willing to spend 5-10 minutes, then cool reader is a much better choice. By the way, I am using Blue Fire on iPad 2 & cool Reader on Samsung Tab & on Android Cool it is free.

  • Clisvet

How cani search for a certain app? Like talking tom cat

  • photophobia

Would it be possible to get the newest version? I think Sony just released a new one. (http://blog.sony.com/reader-store-gives-you-more-freedom-to-read-anytime-anywhere) Thanks!

you have to get the overdrive app to borrow

  • Mikej

Does anyone knowhow wht when in try to open a file that in downloaded it says it can not open it because it can’t find the default?

  • Ilovemyplaybook

first i want to say i LOVE this site… i still cannot read my adobe digital reader on my playbook… are there any new advancements yet??

  • Pasta288

I bought my pandigital SuperNova R80B400 about 5 months ago and am just now finding the time to explore and found many of my downloads only on the Android…just a few saved to the SD card. Should i backup everything and make copies of the apps I want? Several apps say Force Close?? I may be better off resetting the entire Android…& so far can’t download an e-reader. I sure could use some advice & support. My Firmware always is up to date too! It seems like someday it should be in need of updating. I’m glad I found this forum as my Android is very limited in uses.
    Thanx for any suggestions!

  • Reign_it

I have the KOBO app that KOBO offers for the Playbook on my Playbook, and it works fine, but with limited functions. I put the KOBO android app on my Playbook, from your site, and I am not able to access any of the books that are in my account with KOBO. They will not sync, but they do appear as book covers. If I try to read any of the books I get a warning message that the KOBO android process has stopped, please try again, and all I can do is force close. What is wrong?

  • guesty

Wanting to get an alternative to the Kindle. someone suggested the Nexus 7 Tablet. has what i’m looking for and without the obscene amount of advertising the Kindle comes with.

    Why Buy a Kindle?

Many people have come to love the
original Kindle eBook Reader, but as technology has evolved, so has
Amazon’s Kindle. Today, Amazon offers two different types of Kindles –
tablet/eBook reader combos and its simple eBook readers that began it
all. From its beginning, the Kindle reader has allowed users to kick
back and enjoy a book without picking up an actual book. It also allows
users to carry loads of books, magazines, newspapers and more around
with them without hurting their backs. And now, with Amazon’s line of
Kindle Fires you can do much, much more with the device – like run
applications, listen to music and stream videos.
